Center is site #2 on the George Shannon Trail. It marks Pvt. Shannon's adventures of "Sailing Down the Ohio". Center’s location is a prime reason for visitors to see what all Northeast Nebraska has to offer. There is an abundance of recreational opportunities and the drive to most is less than an hour away. The rolling hills and water of the Missouri and Niobrara river valleys contain a variety of wild game and fish for the hunter, fisherman and avid bird watcher. Deer, turkey, pheasant, quail and waterfowl inhabit the area in large numbers. Hikers and cyclists will be thrilled with the scenery that awaits them. The number of well-maintained courses in the area will surprise the golfers.
