Oak Creek Trail

Oak Creek Trail

Address:
Brainard, NE 68065
The Oak Creek Trail, owned and maintained by the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District, spans 12 miles through majestic oak woodlands and beautiful highland vistas between Valparaiso and Brainard. The crushed limestone trail is paralleled by a natural-surfaced equestrian trail throughout the corridor, with plenty of trailer parking in Valparaiso. The town of Loma marks the trail's approximate half-way point. Loma is home to St. Luke's Czech Catholic Shrine and is also where the full-length motion picture, "To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" was filmed in 1995. From the Valparaiso end, the trail begins with a trip over scenic North Oak Bridge. Voluntary trail passes are available on the trail and proceeds are used for trail maintenance. http://www.lpsnrd.org/Recreation/Recreation.htm
