In the heart of Brownville, a community noted for its fine and performing arts, is an artistic endeavor of a botanical kind. More than 200 trees, shrubs and flowers extend from 7th Street to the Missouri River along the Whiskey Run Creek Nature Trail. This trail links with the Steamboat Trace Trail. Also featured is a life-size sculpture of Governor Furnas and other sculptural dispalys emphasizing art in nature and nature in art. These are operated and maintained by the Brownville Fine Arts Association. The arboretum and trails are always open year-round and are lighted for the Christmas season.
