Bow Valley is the #8 site along the George Shannon Trail. It marks the trials in the expedition when Pvt. Shannon and the men experienced "Storms, Boils and Infections". The wooden carving of Pvt. Shannon is no longer at this site... he's walked off to another town near-by. Can you find him? Bow Valley was formed in the 1800's. The creek for which the town takes it's name begins roughly 20 miles to the west. A large beautiful Catholic Church sets on a side hill overlooking the town and creates an outstanding landmark.
