The Seward County Historical Society, located in Goehner, Nebraska, is a rural museum dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Seward County.

Nestled on six acres, the SCHS campus boasts a large museum filled with artifacts from around the county-including the flag flown at the first Fourth of July celebration in Seward in 1868, an original 1915 one-room schoolhouse, a restored 1901 farmhouse, and the Chippewa Northern Rail Company miniature train.

The train runs the second and fourth Sunday of the month and families are invited to come and ride the one-inch scale steam- and battery-powered locomotives. (June-Oct).

The Museum is free admission, but donations are suggested. The open season is from May-October, every Thursday and Sunday. The SCHS is able to accommodate visitors on almost any day of the week if notified ahead of time.
