The Danish Alps State Recreation Area provides an outdoor environment perfect for fishing, horseback riding, and camping. Opened in late summer 2015, the area possesses 67 electrical campsites, including equestrian sites. There are two boat docks on the lake, with a 5 mph/no wake boating restriction. The 219-acre lake itself is fishing ready-stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, channel catfish, and walleye. Both the equestrian campground and picturesque horse trails make this an excellent place for those with equestrian interests. Day use areas are also available in the park; these include a playground, picnic shelters, restrooms, parking, picnic tables, and a hiking/biking trail. The area gets its name from the early Danish settlers in the area.
