One of the most colorful periods in our nation's history was when The Oregon Trail brought thousands of pioneers across the unsettled West. Many of those travelers passed just south of what is now the town of Odell. The Old West Trails Center is located on the corner of Main and Ida in downtown Odell. It is a fine example of the architecture of 1885, and originally housed The First Commercial Bank. Built from locally quarried limestone, it is well-preserved after its renovation in 2005-2006. Enjoy 100 feet of interior murals, exhibits that show The Evolution of Transportation, local history of The Oregon Trail, learning boxes about Indians, Nebraska, animals of the 1800's, and floor puzzles, and Otoe Indian exhibits.
