FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LINCOLN, Neb. (January 18, 2024) — Travelers seeking inspiration on where to go and what to do on their next trip can now check out the 2024 Official "Not-At-All What You Thought" Nebraska State Travel Guide.

"We are once again excited to showcase all our state has to offer to visitors and locals alike through our Travel Guide," said John Ricks, Nebraska Tourism executive director. "This year’s edition includes all of the beautiful landscapes, wide-open spaces, unique stops and a variety of attractions people can experience here, as well as outdoor and family-friendly adventures."

If you're planning a trip to Nebraska, the Nebraska Travel Guide is a helpful resource. Through beautiful pictures, vivid descriptions and, of course, some quirkiness and humor, it highlights things to do all across the state. This year’s guide features road trip ideas for families, foodies, the outdoors, agritourism, culture and history destinations and more!

The cover features Chimney Rock, one of Nebraska's most recognizable landmarks. Once an important feature on the Oregon, California and Mormon Trails, the area has been a National Historic Site since 1956. The stop near Bayard now includes a museum, as well as a new hiking trail to experience the monument up close.

This year's guide includes the addition of original artwork and writing from featured contributors representing Nebraska's Native American heritage, as well as opportunities to experience and learn about Native history and culture in the state.

In 2023, the Nebraska Tourism Commission printed 200,000 copies of the travel guide and distributed them to all 50 states and numerous countries.
