Nebraska Tourism recognizes Outstanding Frontline Employee Award winners

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lincoln, Neb. (May 11, 2023) - To celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week, Nebraska Tourism recognized five tourism employees from across the state with the Outstanding Frontline Employee Award.

This award honors individuals who go above and beyond while interacting with travelers and locals. They strive to enhance visitors' experiences and demonstrate high levels of customer service and pride in their destination. Nebraska tourism industry members were encouraged to submit nominations for outstanding frontline employees in their community.

The 2023 Outstanding Frontline Employee Award recipients are:

Jon Kloepping

Mac's Creek Winery & Brewery, Lexington

As a tasting crew member, Jon loves to make guests feel comfortable and share the story of Mac's Creek. He excels at meeting everyone's needs, and guests continually offer rave reviews and comments on Jon's work to make their visit an unforgettable experience.

Kyren Connely

Carnegie Arts Center, Alliance

As curator of the Carnegie Arts Center, Kyren loves welcoming visitors to Alliance and connecting with them through art. She is hospitable to everyone and energetically promotes the arts to anyone she meets. She goes above and beyond by developing youth and elderly arts programs and is supportive of many other tourism endeavors in her community.

Jenney Miller

Lincoln Children's Zoo, Lincoln

Jenney has worked hard day-in and day-out for more than five years to give guests the best possible experience at the Lincoln Children's Zoo and was recently promoted to Director of Guest Experience. She also works to keep other staff trained, informed and prepared to keep the zoo running with a great impression. She handles any guest situation with complete confidence and kindness.

Jerry Meyer

Nebraska National Guard Museum, Seward

Jerry has worked tirelessly as a historian for the museum since it opened in 2014. His creative and visionary spirit have been the driving force behind creating displays and educational exhibits that have paid tribute to many soldiers. He organizes numerous events throughout the year to bring people from all around the country to the museum, and he is a decorated veteran himself who loves his job and his country.

Elaine Taylor Mick

Great Plains Welsh Heritage Project, Wymore

Elaine was one of the three individuals who started building a dream of a museum honoring the Welsh who immigrated to the Wymore area. In a short period of time, it has become the only Welsh museum in the U.S. and Canada dedicated to such a purpose. As the project's local historian, she also volunteers her time at the Welsh museum, railroad museum and local one-room school.
