70 in 60th year
For my 60th birthday year, I’d hoped to finally complete all 70 of The NE Passport Stops; it took the entire 6 months and a very supportive husband and 3 dear girlfriends to make it come true. We endured a May blizzard in western NE, I survived frightening torrential downpours alone in Sargent in July, and came to my last stop in Arapahoe late in September only to find it closed. Approximately 3,000 miles added to the odometer and several days behind the wheel later, and I’ve achieved that goal! The Nebraska Passport Program has afforded me the chance to see so many beautiful Sandhills, Native American reservations, lakes and stunning rivers, historical landmarks and countless roadkill raccoons! I’m grateful to this program for these journeys over the past several years; they have served to only make my heart fonder of the “good life” of Nebraska! And it really isn’t for everyone, but it is for me!
