Kearney Loop!

We had so much fun in Kearney! We first stopped at The Archway. We were absolutely amazed! We had no idea the Archway was a hands-on museum trip, taking you back in time as you move across the interstate and back again. The main floor consists of a mini cafe, large gift shop, area to experience what it was like panning for minerals, and a mini art museum. It is definitely worth the money.

We weren't quite ready for lunch so we traveled to the Steinbrink Landscaping & Greenhouses. It was beautiful! We didn't want to leave! There were so many different flowers, vegetables, inside plants and outside plants. They were excited to see Passport travelers and gave us each a packet of wild flower seeds. We bought a unique flower plant that we could bring back home and plant in the flower bed.

We then went to S.A.M Que and Catering for lunch. The minute you opened the door, the smell of delicious BBQ overwhelms your senses and you begin salivating. It was so hard to decide on what to eat so my husband and I shared an item. Our kids all loved the items they ordered. We found out that S.A.M. stands for Shawn's Amazing Meat. We agreed that he does an amazing job. We have added this to one of our favorite food stops in Kearney.

We then drove to Classic Car Collection. This was so fun! We lucked out and went on a day they were celebrating the transition to The American Automobile Experience. They were putting up a full drive in movie screen out on the lawn and showing the movie "Cars 3" later that evening. The museum takes you back in time as you travel from the earliest cars to the more recent. They not only have cars, but all different types of travel from fire trucks, campers, soda trucks, drive-in theater, bikes, mini cars, race cars, etc. There is an old fashioned car to play in at the end of the museum, with an old fashioned cafe where you can purchase drinks, and snacks.

Overall, we had a fantastic day in Kearney! Thank you, Passport!
