Our 70th stop!
We did it! Our 70th stop of the 70 stops on the Nebraska Passport Program. This location is the Hilltop Gardens in Scotia, Nebraska. What a beautiful nursery and landscaping business. We truly enjoy this program, it’s the second time in 4 years that we have completed all of the stops. From Crawford to Falls City, from Curtis to Crofton we have seen the glory and beauty of this flyover state and its people. There is nothing like seeing the bluestem and buffalo grasses blowing in the Ogallala Grassland area to the beauty of a 160-acre sunflower field in the Crawford area. How does one not feel patriotic seeing Scottsbluff National Monument and Chimney Rock in the distance as you travel down the highway? Our hats are off to the one-room shop owners and museum volunteers in all the little towns trying to make a difference. So if you are in a rut and need something to do, get in the car, pack a lunch, and do some stops on the Passport series. You don’t have to do them all, some stops might not light your fire but chances are you will find another special place right next door.
