The Taylor Community Arboretum is just that--spread across the community. It includes the interior town square, tourist park, library, visitor's center, historic Pavillion Hotel and the three-building Loup County Museum complex. The arboretum features Taylor's most famous arboricultural connection--the Taylor juniper (Juniperus Virginiana - Taylor). This very narrow, upright form of eastern redcedar was found growing naturally just west of Taylor in 1978, and has since become a popular landscaping tree nationwide. Over 60 varieties of native trees and shrubs are on display at the various sites around town, and nearly 100 Taylor Junipers have been planted throughout the community. The arboretum is open year-round, sunrise to sunset. For added information, visit http://arboretum.unl.edu/taylor-community-arboretum.
